Engineering Highlights

Engineered for Hazardous & High-Purity Applications.

Static Dissipation

Electrostatic Safety

Everflon+™ PFA C403 provides anti-static electrical conductivity, preventing dangerous static build-up and spark ignition when handling non-polar fluids, powders, and aggressive flammable media.

Chemical Resistance

Universal Inertness

Fully resistant to attack by virtually all industrial chemicals, concentrated acids, and aggressive solvents across temperatures from -196°C to 250°C (-321°F to 482°F).

Thermal Stability

High Melt Strength

Features thermal stability during processing, a melting point of 284°C (543°F), and outstanding creep resistance at elevated service temperatures.

Flex Endurance

Exceptional Toughness & Flex Life

Combines moderate stiffness with an MIT Folding Endurance of 80,000 cycles, ensuring extended fatigue life for dynamic bellows, lined valves, and flexible fluid tubing.

Fabrication & Technology

Melt Processing & Application Engineering

01. Melt Extrusion

Extruder L/D Parameters

Processed by conventional thermoplastic melt extrusion. A long extruder barrel with an L/D ratio of 20:1 to 25:1 is recommended to provide sufficient residence time for heating the resin up to approximately 390°C (734°F).

02. Molding Operations

Compression, Transfer & Blow

High melt strength allows molding of complex components, lining forms, and valve sheets without pinholes or internal voids.

03. Tooling Metallurgy

Corrosion-Resistant Alloys

High-nickel corrosion-resistant metals (Hastelloy® / Inconel®) must be used for all tooling, screws, and barrels in direct contact with molten fluoropolymer resin.

Typical Industrial Applications

Chemical Processing Industries (CPI)          Anti-static linings of components, column vessels, pipes, pumps, and fluid handling assemblies.
Industrial Film & Sheet Extrusion          Static-dissipative release films, high-temperature barrier membranes, and conductive sheeting.
Semiconductor & Energy          Semiconductor solvent lines, wafer handling fixtures, and downhole electrical assemblies.

Handling & Logistics

Packaging, Storage & Safety Precautions

Packaging

Supplied as black pellets.

45.4-kg (100-lb) Drums
Packaged with a polyethylene inner lining.

Storage & Handling

Properties are not affected by storage time. Avoid airborne contamination and moisture condensation.

Drying: 100°C (212°F) for 4 Hours
Suggested to remove absorbed moisture prior to processing.

Safety Precautions

Open and use containers only in well-ventilated areas with local exhaust ventilation (LEV).

Avoid Tobacco Contamination
Exhaust hot processing fumes completely to prevent flu-like symptoms.

Technical Information & Warranty Notice

The technical data set forth herein is based on laboratory analysis believed to be reliable and intended for use by persons having technical skill at their own discretion and risk. Because conditions of product use are outside our control, no warranties, express or implied, are made regarding final part performance.

Medical & Critical Application Restriction

Do not use Everflon+™ fluoropolymers in medical applications involving permanent implantation in the human body or contact with internal body fluids or tissues unless expressly agreed in writing.

Handling & Safe Practice References

Prior to processing, consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and "The Guide to the Safe Handling of Fluoropolymer Resins" published by the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) or PlasticsEurope.
