ETFE 4020
Special-Purpose High-Flow Fluoroplastics
A melt-processable modified copolymer of ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene. Engineered with a superior high flow rate (MFR 20 g/10min) for high-speed wire coating, thin-walled tubing, and complex precision injection molding.
High-Speed Processing Advantage
Everflon™ ETFE 4020 combines high flow rates with excellent mechanical toughness, enabling faster cycle times and intricate part geometries.
Facilitates high-speed extrusion lines and complete cavity filling in slender, thin-walled, or multi-cavity injection molds with low injection pressure.
Fully inert to aggressive solvents, strong acids, and bases. Hydrolytically stable with extremely low moisture absorption (< 0.01%).
Maintains continuous thermal capability up to 150 °C (302 °F) with excellent Izod impact strength (No Break) preserved into cryogenic ranges.
High dielectric strength (65 kV/mm) and low dielectric constant (2.6–2.8) ensure minimal signal loss in electronic sockets and micro-connectors.

Processing & End Uses
Optimized for rapid cycle times, high-rate wire coating, and delicate thin-wall molding.
High-Speed Wire & Cable Insulation: Thin-wall extruded insulation, multi-conductor jackets, and sleeving.
Precision Electrical Connectors: Multi-pin sockets, miniature switches, coil forms, and relay covers.
Thin-Walled Laboratory Ware: Micro-tubing, analytical valves, chemical containers, and precision fasteners.
Battery & Instrumentation Components: Thin-shell cases and complex internal structural parts requiring chemical inertness.
Complex Mechanical Hardware: Slender molded components, threaded fasteners, and intricate seal components.
Processing Techniques: High-speed melt extrusion, high-cavity injection, compression, transfer, and blow molding.
Barrel & Melt Temperatures: Heating zone up to approximately 340 °C (640 °F). Long L/D extruder barrels recommended.
Die & Flow Dynamics: Significant shear-thinning allows narrow-die pressure extrusion with minimal drawdown.
Tool Metallurgy: Corrosion-resistant alloys (Hastelloy, Inconel) recommended in contact with molten resin.
Machine Preference: Reciprocating screw injection molding machines for uniform melt and fast injection cycles.
