Engineered Mechanical Toughness

High Cut-Through & Radiation Resistance.

ETFE combines the chemical resistance of fluoropolymers with high mechanical tensile modulus, impact strength, and exceptional gamma radiation endurance up to 200 Mrad.

Extreme Mechanical Integrity

Superior Cut-Through, Crush, & Abrasion Resistance

Engineered with sub-micron inorganic particles that do not compromise ETFE's high tensile modulus (1200 MPa) or tear propagation strength. Meets strict Mil-W-22759/16 airframe scraping standards.

1200 MPa Modulus
Nuclear & Space Grade

200 Mrad Gamma Radiation Resistance

Formulated with specialized radiation-stable colorants that resist crosslinking degradation, embrittlement, or discoloration in nuclear reactors and orbital satellites.

200 Mrad
Thermal Stability

340°C Peak Melt Extrusion Window

Thermal stabilizers prevent degradation, off-gassing, or screw deposit formation during thin-wall line speeds up to 1,000 ft/min.

High-Demanding Sectors

Built for Severe Mechanical & Radiation Stress

Qualified for US and international aerospace airframe programs, nuclear reactor containment control cabling, downhole drilling telemetry, and transit rolling stock.

Aerospace Airframe Wire (Mil-W-22759/16)

Provides thin-wall, lightweight dual-wall insulation for commercial and military aircraft. Exceptional resistance to tight-bend scraping, cut-through, and hydraulic fluids.

Nuclear Containment & Radiation Cabling

Endures high-dose gamma radiation (up to 200 Mrad) and Class 1E LOCA test conditions without physical embrittlement or insulation breakdown.

Downhole Drilling Telemetry Lines

Resists extreme mechanical crush and oilfield chemicals (H2S, drilling mud, methane) in high-vibration measurement-while-drilling (MWD) tools.

🚆

Transit & Rolling Stock Power Lines

Delivers low smoke toxicity, flame retardancy (UL 94 V-0), and superior impact resistance for locomotive undercar wiring and pantograph connections.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the recommended letdown ratio for Everflon+™ ETFE Color Concentrates?

We recommend a standard letdown ratio of 25:1 (4% concentrate to 96% natural ETFE resin) for general hook-up wire and cable jackets. For ultra-thin wall Mil-Spec wires (<0.05 mm), addition rates can be fine-tuned between 20:1 and 33:1 (3% to 5%) to achieve target opacity without compromising tensile strength or flex life.

Is Everflon+™ ETFE Color Concentrate compatible with Electron-Beam crosslinking (X-ETFE)?

Yes. We offer specialized masterbatch formulations specifically engineered for radiation crosslinked ETFE (X-ETFE) compounds. The inorganic colorants and stabilizers withstand high-energy e-beam crosslinking doses without color shift or oxidative polymer degradation.

How does ETFE Color Concentrate compare to FEP and PFA in terms of mechanical toughness?

ETFE exhibits significantly higher tensile strength, hardness, and cut-through resistance compared to fully fluorinated polymers like FEP and PFA. It is the preferred material for high-stress aerospace airframes and downhole installations where mechanical abuse and scraping resistance are paramount.
