Combines fluoropolymer chemical inertia with exceptional tensile strength, impact absorption, and cut-through abrasion resistance.

Water Vapor Anti-Permeation

Special filled grades demonstrate zero blisters, bubbles, or delamination in Atlas cell boiling-water tests under 1-year continuous exposure.

Ultra-Thick Wall Build

Up to 200 µm per single coat pass; easily accumulates into heavy linings of 650–1,200 µm total DFT without sag or thermal stress cracks.

Thermal Stability to 150 °C

Designed for continuous operation at 150 °C (300 °F) in aggressive chemical and wet-chlorine vapor pipelines where PTFE/FEP linings deform under mechanical stress.

Calibrated with unfilled, micro-mineral reinforced, and high-flow variants to match specific spray shop challenges and chemical media.

Grade JP40-N (Clear / Unfilled)          Topcoat / Clear

Virgin High-Clarity Topcoat

Unpigmented, virgin ETFE copolymer powder. Provides an ultra-smooth, pinhole-free finish (Ra < 0.25 µm) that seals filled intermediate coats and prevents particle shedding.

Target Application: Sealing layers over reinforced mid-coats, DI water headers.
Grade JP40-B (Beige Filled)          Heavy Barrier

Mineral-Filled Anti-Permeation Mid-Coat

Engineered with micro-reinforcing mineral flakes that suppress water vapor permeation and osmotic pressure. Delivers superior resistance to boiling aqueous solutions.

Target Application: Chemical scrubber tanks, distillation columns, flue-gas ducts.
Grade JP40-C (Antistatic Black)          Conductive

Electrostatically Dissipative (ESD)

Compounded with ultra-pure conductive carbon matrix to achieve surface resistivity of 10⁴–10⁶ Ω/sq, preventing dangerous static spark build-up when transporting flammable solvents.

Target Application: ATEX Zone 0/1 solvent pipes, centrifuge baskets, mixing vessels.
Grade JP40-HF (High Flow)          Fast Leveling

High-MFR Rotomolding & Complex Geometry

Higher melt flow rate profile tailored for tight radiused corners, fine wire baskets, pump casings, and rotational lining of small-diameter hollow valves and fittings.

Target Application: Chemical valve bodies, pipe spools, electroplating racks.
Two-Coat System Compatibility Standard

Fully compatible with liquid primer systems (Everflon™ Primer 699N Series) and powder primers (532G Series equivalents). Formulated to enable hot flocking for subsequent coats without peel back.

Polymer Morphological Science

Why ETFE Outperforms in Severe Water Vapor Service

While perfluorinated resins (PTFE/PFA) offer universal chemical inertness, ETFE copolymers provide a significantly tighter barrier against moisture and vapor transmission.

Extreme Water Vapor Resistance

ETFE molecular chains contain alternating ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene units, creating high cohesive energy density. This prevents hot moisture from penetrating through to the cold steel substrate.

• Completely resists osmotic blistering even at 350 µm thickness

Elastic Recovery & Cold Flow Resistance

Unlike fully fluorinated resins that suffer from creep under compressive loads, ETFE retains elastic resilience and resists cut-through under high mechanical clamping forces and bolt torques.

• Superior gasket sealing and flange face dimensional stability

Broad Chemical Tolerance

Inert to strong mineral acids, caustic alkalis, organic oxidizers, and bleaching chemicals across pH 0 to 14. Ideal for dual-service vessels facing alternating acid-alkali CIP washing cycles.

• Unaffected by wet chlorine gas, sodium hypochlorite, and caustic soda

Applicator Standards

Application Method & Sintering Windows

Precision process control guidelines for electrostatic corona spray guns (Gema OptiFlex, Nordson Encore, Wagner Sprint).

STEP 01

Substrate Prep & Primer

Grit-blast to clean white metal (Sa 2.5, Ra 3.5–5.0 µm). Apply liquid primer (699N129) or powder primer (532G-6405). ETFE powder can be applied dry-on-wet prior to cure.

STEP 02

Sieving & Fluidization

Homogenize before opening. Sieve through a 30-mesh (~550 µm) stainless steel screen. Use a fluidized hopper with vibration; maintain dry air dew point below -20 °C.

STEP 03

Electrostatic Spray

Spray up to 200 µm (8 mils) per coat. Second and subsequent coats can be applied via hot flocking on preheated substrate to build total DFT of 650–1,000+ µm.

STEP 04

Thermal Curing / Sintering

Bake 20–30 min at 295–300 °C (565–570 °F) metal temperature. Oven air temperature must not exceed 310 °C (590 °F). Terminate with topcoat cured at 280 °C (535 °F).

Where high-speed slurries destroy softer PTFE coatings, ETFE's high Shore D hardness and cut-through resistance prevent mechanical gouging.

Superior impermeability to wet chlorine gas, hydrochloric acid, and bleach solutions in chemical transport isotanks and valve bodies.

Storage & Industrial Packaging

Store in closed bags at 18–27 °C (65–80 °F); max storage temp 40 °C (105 °F). ETFE powders can be stored indefinitely under recommended conditions:

• Standard Box: 10 kg net (double antistatic moisture barrier liner)
• Heavy Fiber Drum: 25 kg net (airtight industrial drum)
Transport temperature: 5–40 °C (40–105 °F). Standard palletization: 500 kg per pallet with moisture shrink-wrap.
