Get to Know Cathay™ PFA Fluoropolymer Films
Cathay™ PFA films are highly chemically inert and solvent resistant; have low permeability to liquids, gases, moisture, and organic vapors; and exhibit very good dielectric properties, high continuous service temperature, favorable antistick and low frictional properties, as well as good weathering and optical properties. Additional features of PFA films are superior creep resistance at high temperatures, excellent low-temperature toughness, and exceptional flame resistance.
These films offer the highest continuous use temperature of 260°C (500°F) of any melt-processable fluoropolymer film type. They offer many of the performance properties of PTFE films in a clear, transparent form.
Typical applications of Cathay™ PFA films are in chemical processing, wire and cable, electronics, mold release in processing composites, circuit board laminates, chemical pumps, tank linings, shrink roll covers, and rupture discs and gaskets.

Cathay™ PFA Film S Grade
This film grade utilizes the low dielectric constant and dissipation over a wide range of temperatures and frequencies for low-signal distortion and attenuation in flexible printed circuit and flat cable applications. The high surface and volume resistivity minimizes current leakage and provides excellent insulation in wire and cable applications.
Manufactured out of 100% virgin premium grade Everflon™ PFA resinwith MFI range of 5-10
Best suited for applications where high dielectricperformance is required, such as PCB laminates and wire &cable applications
Grade of choice for protective, decorative, see-through andother applications where visual appearance and clarity areimportant
Cathay™ PFA Film W Grade(Weldig)
Type W (mechanical grade) film is an ideal economical solution forapplications that don’t require high aesthetic standards, such as hot melt adhesive(welding tape) application. PFA W grade possesses all physical, mechanical, and thermalproperties of PFA film while offering up to 25% savings.
