     FEP Water-Based Series

Advanced water-based FEP liquid topcoats designed to provide exceptional non-stick release, chemical resistance, and corrosion protection. FEP melt-flows to form extremely low-porosity films for superior performance.

Melt-Flow Low Porosity

FEP melt-flows during baking to form an exceptionally dense film of very low porosity, making it ideal for low-abrasion release applications.

Corrosion & Chemical Barrier

Pigmented layers applied as mid-coats further improve permeation resistance across the entire multi-layer coating system.

Precise Film Build (Max 12 µm)

Recommended dry film thickness up to 12 µm (0.5 mil) per coat, with a minimum of two coats recommended for optimal barrier performance.

FDA & EU Food Contact

Grades like 460-300 and 460-303 comply with US FDA and EU Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 when paired with compliant primer systems.

Clear Aqueous FEP Topcoat

Transparent FEP liquid topcoat with viscosity of 500–1000 cps and volume solids of 27.6–28.6%. Delivers optimal release properties and low abrasion. FDA compliant.

Key Targets: Low-abrasion release applications, food contact rollers, molds.
Grade 460-303 (Black RAL 9004)          Max 12 µm / Coat

Pigmented Black FEP Top/Mid-Coat

Pigmented black (RAL 9004) FEP aqueous coating with viscosity of 700–1100 cps. Functions exceptionally as a mid-coat to dramatically improve permeation resistance. FDA compliant.

Key Targets: Multi-layer corrosion barrier systems, industrial tanks, chemical piping.
Grade 460-304 (Green RAL 6017)          Max 12 µm / Coat

Pigmented Green FEP Industrial Coat

Pigmented green (RAL 6017) FEP coating with viscosity of 300–800 cps. Engineered for high corrosion resistance in industrial chemical containment (Note: Not FDA compliant).

Key Targets: Non-food chemical processing equipment, corrosion-resistant hardware.

Homogeneous Suspension & Low-Porosity Sintering

Advanced aqueous stabilization ensures smooth atomization and dense melt-flow film consolidation during baking.

Axial Flow Impeller Mixing

Gently mix for 15 minutes or more using an axial flow impeller until contents are homogeneous. Adjust mixer speed so that a vortex appears while avoiding air entrapment. Insufficient mixing leads to application defects.

200-Mesh Precision Filtration

Filter through a 200 mesh (approx. 75 µm) stainless steel or nylon screen before spraying to remove micro-agglomerates and maintain seamless flow through fine fluid tips.

• Guarantees flawless surface finish

Aqueous Clean-Up & Deionised Water

Equipment clean-up is effortlessly performed using water. Use deionised water as thinner or additive when adjusting application parameters.

Application Method, Drying & Curing Schedules

Precision liquid spray parameters for aqueous FEP topcoats.

STEP 01

Coating Preparation & Mixing

Gently mix 15 minutes or more until homogeneous using an axial flow impeller. Filter through 200 mesh (approx. 75 µm) stainless steel or nylon screen.

STEP 02

RP / Conventional / HVLP Spray

Use RP (Reduced Pressure), conventional, or HVLP gun. Nozzle: 0.8–1.2 mm. Atomizing air pressure: 2–3 bar (30–45 psi). Max 12 µm DFT per coat (min 2 coats).

STEP 03

Drying Flash-Off

Dry coating for 10–15 min at 105–150 °C (220–300 °F) metal temperature to evaporate water completely.

STEP 04

Curing & Long Bake

Cure 20 minutes at 380–390 °C (720–730 °F) after each coat. Optional long bake (up to 90 min at 330–340 °C) enhances inter-coat adhesion and corrosion resistance.

Storage & Aqueous Shelf Life

Gently mix (15 min at 30 RPM) before use. Shelf life is 12 months at optimal storage conditions: 18 °C–27 °C (65 °F–80 °F). Maximum storage temperature 40 °C (105 °F).

• Gentle Agitation Required Prior to Spray Application
