PVDF 201
Get to know Everflon™ PVDF V201.
EverflonTM PVDF V201 is a crystalline high molecular weight powder form of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) specifically designed for solvent-based coatings to provide improved gloss. It forms mechanically strong and tough films that have a broad useful temperature range. These films are highly resistant to most environmental conditions including gamma radiation and are essentially transparent to ultraviolet radiation.
The weathering characteristics of EverflonTMPVDF V201coatings lead to excellent performance for the long term. EverflonTM PVDFV201 is available only via a licensing program that specifies the composition of EverflonTM V201 coatings.Aproperly formulated finish contains suficient pigment to make the film totally opaque to ultraviolet radiation at the nominal one mil (O.001inch) film thickness suggested.
Typical Applications
The combination of carbon-fluorine bonds with carbon-hydrogen atoms gives PVDF its extremely stable structure. EverflonTM PVDF are inherently inert and withstand long term UV and gamma radiation resulting in excellent color and gloss retention without chalking.PVDF also resists acids, alkalis and oils. These coatings ensure a long-lasting, rich, colorful, durable finish and gloss with relatively no visible signs of ageing despite years of relentless sun, temperature extremes and harsh environmental conditions.70% EverflonTMV201 PVDF factory-applied coatings provide the ultimate protection for composite panels, curtain walls, extrusions, louvers, metal roofs, facades, column covers and decorative components. Whether coil coated or sprayed, EverflonTM coatings are readily applied to aluminum, aluminized steel, galvanized steel and Galvalume.
EverflonTM V201 coatings can be formulated into a rainbow of colors and finishes to glorify the palette of every architectural designer. Beautiful structures benefiting from the protection of EverflonTM V201 PVDF coatings can be found throughout the world
Precaution
Equipment used to process at melt temperatures should be provided with local exhaust ventilation (LEV) to completely remove all fumes and vapors from the processing area. In addition, care should be exercised to avoid the contamination of cigarettes and other forms of smoking tobacco when using fluoroplastic resins. Before processing any fluoroplastics, read the Material Safety Data Sheet.
