How to Choose an Everflon PFA Grade: A Practical Checklist
Use a practical workflow to discuss Everflon PFA grade selection, technical documentation and sample evaluation.
Your application. A clear selection path.
Translate the application into requirements
Describe what the component does, how it will be manufactured and the conditions it will face. Record geometry, tolerances and the relevant mechanical, chemical or electrical requirements. Separate requirements that are already defined from questions that need investigation. This makes the selection process easier to review with a material supplier.
Compare candidate grades and evidence
Use low-, medium- and high-flow positioning to organize the options, then compare current grade-specific data. Consider high-purity products separately when contamination requirements apply. Confirm product form, documentation and supply information. A similar grade name or a single matching property does not establish equivalence to another material.
Agree on a sample evaluation plan
Before a trial, define the sample quantity, processing information, acceptance tests and feedback date. Record the material lot and results so that follow-up discussion is based on evidence. Ask Everflon for selection support with your application details; discuss sample availability and conditions as part of that conversation.
Selection checklist
| Evaluation factor | Information to record |
|---|---|
| Manufacturing process | Describe extrusion or molding equipment, tooling and the intended production route. |
| Part geometry | Record wall thickness, dimensions, tolerances and critical features. |
| Operating environment | Specify fluid composition, temperature, pressure, exposure time and mechanical loads. |
| Acceptance criteria | Define the finished-part tests, required documentation and evaluation milestones. |
Frequently asked questions
Can a resin data sheet confirm finished-part suitability?
A technical data sheet supports initial selection. It does not establish a pressure rating, service life or approval for a finished component. Evaluate the processed part under representative conditions.
What information should I send to Everflon?
Share the application, manufacturing process, part drawing or dimensions, operating conditions and required documentation. This helps define an appropriate grade evaluation and sample plan.
Use the current grade-specific technical data sheet and safety data sheet. Numerical properties, processing settings and approvals must match the actual grade and test conditions.
